Not to be confused with metallic (paper) prints.  I like those, too.

No, I'm talking about images printed directly on to a piece of aluminum.  My friends at White House Custom Color were running a sale on them, so I decided to try a couple.  With no prior experience in metal prints, I opted for two 11 by 14 inch prints.  One is an old favorite in color, the other really new in black and white.

First observations:  As usual, the White House turns out fantastic work.  If I am not happy with one of their products, they are quick to turn out a replacement.  On their own dime, too.

The description said they would be glossy, but wow!  I don't think they're shinier than a glossy print, but they're nearly perfectly flat because of the metal backing.  So you could take one outside and use it for a signal mirror.

Since they don't fit in a portfolio with the mounting board on, I will have to invent a new way to transport them for viewings.  I might just try one without all the bells and whistles, who can say?  Either way, I should have at least one to demo.

Anyways, here is a bit of a teaser.
