As many of you know, I was raised in a military family and got to travel a bit. Then I went and joined the army and lived the vast part of my career in Deutschland.

Now let’s mesh that with me being old enough to do Social Security and Medicare.

This is the part of most people’s lives where they eye a place to live out their golden years. And I have really started to put some effort into this. I can say without hesitation that I would only choose my current location (Ohio) if I were to win some sweepstakes that required me to live there.

Right now I have narrowed things down to these US states:

Oregon

Washington

Minnesota

Vermont

Colorado

Perhaps California north of San Francisco

Those are in order of preference, by the way. Notice anything? They are all far bluer than Ohio. I feel that some days I am surrounded by ten million fascists, and that is a major drag.

What I’m looking for with this post is you folks’ networking to pitch ideas at me for exact location. I’m not ready to retire to a rocking chair on a porch somewhere just yet. Leads or introductions or references are all welcome.

I am currently in the food business, but would be at home in a library or small town hardware store. I could probably recertify in a number of IT environments, but I have to wonder if I should subject myself to that again.

I love photographing landscapes and all of my front runners have an abundance of that.

Bonus points if you can find me a B&B inn keeping gig.

For those of you that do not see me on the regular, contact info is right here on the website.

As far as timing goes, anytime between the first of upcoming January and Memorial Day. (May 31)
