So I have this electrical transmission tower nearby.  For most of the year, it blocks my view of the setting sun.  So rather than move, I have started rethinking my composition a bit.

Sometimes I have mere seconds to grab a camera and shoot, so I can't go tromping off into a corn field to get an unobstructed view.  What you see here is one of those rush shots.

This was created with the Leica M9.  What's noteworthy about that?  It is straight out of the camera, other than resized for the web.  No auto contrast, saturation boost, or other digital voodoo.

It's archaic and slow compared to so many other cameras I have owned and used.  But it is without a doubt the best at capturing exactly what you are looking at in the viewfinder.  Even the in camera black and white images are excellent.  I so want to shoot an M9 monochrom, but I fear that I will have to own one after that.  :-D
