Following in the footsteps of my last post from the shoot in Michigan, here is something in color.  :-)

I shot somewhere around 750 frames over the course of one really long and one short day.  Now that I have had some time to sift through them during post, a few have risen to the top.  This is one of them.

When I checked the metadata, it confirmed that this was shot with the Nikkor 85mm "D" lens.  It has a look to its images that I really like.  Whether a full frame or crop, this lens delivers the most pleasing images of any I have shot with.  The only thing that would convince me to get rid of it, would be to find out that the newer "G" version is leaps and bounds ahead optically.

On to the image . . .  as the title suggests, this is Christina.  While she as modeling the beautiful dress you see a glimpse of, we strayed near some playground equipment.  I tossed in the idea that a young woman in renaissance era clothing on a modern swing set would make an interesting picture.  She agreed, and this is one of the frames I shot.

What do I like about it?  Why did it drift to the top of my favorites?  The specular glint of the sunlight on her hair and jewelry certainly has its appeal.  What really seals the deal is Christina's contented expression and that piercing gaze.  I did, in fact, remark to my very patient model that she had the most photogenic eyes I had seen in some time.  I hope this image conveys that.

Enjoy!
