As in I got tired of waiting for a Nikon promotion.  So I went ahead an purchased that D800e that I have been jonesing for since the day it was announced.  With any luck, it will be here by Saturday.

That's noteworthy because I am on vacation next week and plan to hit the road for a few days.  I have revised my plans so many times that I'm not sure what the original one was.  Right now, I am going to head out I-70 to Denver, CO and play tourist for a few days.  That should get me back in time for Memorial Day festivities with the family.

What else is noteworthy is that I will probably be selling off my Leica M9.  I love it to pieces and you've heard me sing its praises here.  But it's a game of compromises with sensitivity and overall speed.  And at this point, I will be just about as happy using those stellar M lenses on something else, should the need arise.  It's not like I have lots of them.  (Just the 50 and 90 Summicrons)  Strangely enough, in the future I will probably shoot C-41 print film in an old M3/M4/M5/M6 body to have that Leica experience.  As much as I would shoot it, that will be cheaper than the digital version, believe it or not.
