As cool as it would be to have everything in HD, I'm not ready to do that.  After looking at stats, very few of my viewers would be able to capitalize on that.

The software that Zenfolio has thoughtfully blended in scales the columns at a much smaller size.  So in the interest of throughput, I'm going to aim for a maximum width of 1024 pixels.  I realize for most of you, that probably means nothing, so there is no need for a lengthy explanation.  :-)

I would be remiss not to include a photograph with this post, as this is a photo blog.

Here is a piece of history that most give me my stuff Americans don't even know about.  I could go on at length about why these internment camps were created.  Or some of the appalling things that happened at them.  A little internet sleuthing will provide more info than you might actually want.  Start here with the National Park Service official site.

Manzanar is the only one that has been preserved so that we might learn something from our own past.  You owe it to yourself to visit one day.  Remember that these things were concocted by American citizens and forced on other American citizens.  Essentially because they looked different.

If you're still reading along this far down, I will add one more bit.

As someone who attended the 2009 memorial ceremonies at Columbine High School, visiting Manzanar was every bit as sobering as that.
